Your Children - Studying Overseas
At CRIC, we realise how difficult a decision it is for many parents to send their children overseas for studies. There are always many things to consider, accommodation, safety, the challenges the students face during their early years, progression, completion of studies and so on.

To help you better understand what to expect and consider when sending your child to CRIC we have provided some valuable information below, which we think may be of help. By all means, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, or if we can do more to help your son or daughter settle into their studies and life in Cambridge.
Small class sizes, personal attention, the academic environment At CRIC, we teach in small class sizes which give students much better access to their teachers. This is very important especially for students who are getting used to the independent learning environment of a university. The teachers will be there to guide students through the difficult times, and above all keep them motivated throughout their time at CRIC.
The small class sizes also make it much more of an interactive learning environment where the professors and students can discuss ideas openly, right there in the class room. We would like to think of this as the best form of learning as well as teaching. The added benefit to the student is that this improves their communication skills and gives them greater confidence in both their academic and social life.
Cost of our pathways CRIC pathways are affordable compared to similar pathways in the UK and enable students to complete their studies sooner meaning significant savings on living expenses. (CRIC Tuition Fees).
Cost of Living While living in the UK has never been cheap we find that if students budget well, then studying and living in the UK is no more expensive than many other parts of the world. Students are also able to work part-time (20 hours per weeks) during their term and full time during their holidays. Whilst this should never be seen as enough income to pay for tuition or living expenses, it will certainly help with travel and entertainment expenses.
We encourage students to take up some part time work, also for their own development outside of the classroom. This is also a fantastic opportunity to get to know other local students as well as certainly people outside of the university setting. The University’s Employment Bureau can assist students in finding part-time employment.
Accommodation in Cambridge The university has both on-campus as well as off-campus accommodation on offer for both Anglia Ruskin University as well as CRIC students. We encourage you to get in touch with us early in regards to the accommodation needs of your son or daughter.
Cambridge is a Safe City Cambridge is one of the safest cities in the UK with very little crime and petty theft. This provides peace of mind for many parents who have their sons and daughters studying in this beautiful city.
Academic and Social Support At CRIC, we understand the challenges that await young people at University. This is why we have provide a comprehensive support service to meet the needs of each student both academically and socially. The pathways offered by CRIC provide a transition stage between High School and University so that these challenges are minimal and the transition to university is seamless.
Completion of studies and Graduate Employment outcomes Anglia Ruskin University has one of the highest Graduate Employment ratings across the country at 93%, which means your investment into your child’s education is one that will lead to employment in their chosen field. The university has achieved this by being industry relevant in their teaching as well as making sure that all students have access to an excellent level of career advice on campus. |
